Second Nature Wood Fiber Blend Mulch

Second Nature Wood Fiber Blend Mulch

This engineered wood-and-cellulose fiber mulch combines long-strand, thermally refined wood fibers with high-quality cellulose to deliver reliable soil stabilization, enhanced moisture retention, and accelerated seed germination across a wide range of project environments.

This engineered wood-and-cellulose fiber mulch combines long-strand, thermally refined wood fibers with high-quality cellulose to deliver reliable soil stabilization, enhanced moisture retention, and accelerated seed germination across a wide range of project environments. By blending the structural strength and water-holding capacity of wood fiber with the fine texture and coverage density of cellulose, the mulch creates a flexible, absorbent layer that locks soil in place, reduces runoff, and protects seedbeds even on slopes, disturbed soils, or irregular terrain. The balanced 70/30 ratio of wood to cellulose ensures that you get the erosion resistance and coverage efficiency required for demanding sites while maintaining excellent seed-to-soil contact and effective moisture management.

  • Custom mix of 100 percent Thermally Refined wood fiber and premium cellulose fiber yields superior soil bonding and erosion control compared with cellulose-only mulches or traditional hydromulch blends
  • Free of contaminants or synthetic additives — fully biodegradable and safe for environmentally sensitive jobsites, water-adjacent areas, or ecological restoration zones
  • Available pre-mixed with refined tackifier for improved soil adhesion and rain-ready performance, eliminating the need for field-mixing and reducing labor overhead
  • Provides up to 20 percent greater surface coverage than pure cellulose fiber, which improves coverage efficiency and can reduce material consumption and costs per acre
  • Designed for easy mixing and spraying with standard hydroseeding equipment, producing uniform slurry, smooth application, and efficient hose-work even on large or complex sites
  • Packaged in 50-pound, UV- and weather-resistant bags for reliable storage, handling, and consistent field performance across seasons and delivery schedules
  • Meets or exceeds all relevant wood- and cellulose-fiber mulch specifications for civil, reclamation, landscaping, or erosion-control applications

This wood/cellulose fiber blend mulch delivers a versatile, high-performance solution that bridges the gap between pure wood-fiber durability and cellulose-based coverage efficiency. It supports strong vegetation establishment while providing erosion protection, moisture retention, and seedbed security, making it an optimal choice for contractors, engineers, and land-restoration teams seeking reliable, high-value results on slopes, disturbed soils, reclamation sites, and other challenging landscapes.
